Model Trains in Action
Watch model trains come to life as volunteers from the Guildford O Gauge Group run a live test track in our Ambassadors room from Saturday 23rd to Sunday 31st May. Discover how railways work, see trains in action, and chat with enthusiasts who bring the hobby to life.
Half Term Family Day
Join us for a fun, creative drop-in session this half term. Help us create a giant, train-themed drawing on Wednesday 27th May in the Education Studio on Floor 1, between 10.30am-12.30pm or 2-4pm.

Café and Shop
Visit our ground floor where our café promises great range of hot and cold drinks and light lunches. Enjoy soaking up the sun in the canal-side courtyard or pop into our shop where you can browse books, unique gifts and locally-made artworks.
Art Cart
Located on the ground floor, our free Art Cart will be full of fun activities, sure to to inspire visitors of all ages to get creative.
Imagine and Play
Located on floor 2 outside the gallery, there is a comfortable place for creativity and play, with activities and storybook bags that are free to use with a day pass.
Woking's Story
Woking's Story is a rich, interactive museum at the Lightbox which explores the town's fascinating past. The family-friendly displays contain something for everyone, from a children's dress-up box to stories of local people.
From 10:30am–12:30pm and again from 1:30–3:00pm on Wednesday 27th May, our Heritage Volunteers will bring Woking’s past to life, sharing fascinating stories behind a selection of unique railway objects held in our Heritage Collection.
Pay What You Wish Wednesday
From 10.30am -12.30pm on Wednesdays*, you can explore everything Lightbox Gallery has to offer by donation only.
*On Family Days this is extended to all day.
