About the Ground Floor Gallery
The Ground Floor Gallery is part of Lightbox Gallery & Museum’s free, open-access offer. Located next to the café and shop, it benefits from strong daily visitor footfall and provides a space for short-term exhibitions.
The gallery offers approximately 20 metres of running wall space, suitable for 2D work and flexible display configurations.
Hire Details:
- Minimum hire period: two consecutive weeks
- Hire fees: from £400 + VAT per week
- Full fees and terms are set out in the Ground Floor Gallery Hire Agreement
How proposals are reviewed:
Proposals are reviewed internally by staff at regular six-weekly intervals. Due to the volume of enquiries received, we are unable to provide individual feedback unless a proposal is being taken forward.
How to apply:
Please email your proposal to info@thelightbox.org.uk with the subject line: Ground Floor Gallery Proposal
Your submission should include:
- Name and contact details
- A short synopsis of the exhibition
- Three artwork images, clearly labelled with title, date, size and medium
- A brief project statement and proposed timeline
- A CV and background information

Please do not send original artwork. Lightbox Gallery & Museum cannot be held responsible for work that goes astray. Due to the volume of enquiries received, we are unable to accommodate meeting requests with the staff team.
Gallery Info:
- Our opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm
- Central Location: Based in Woking Town Centre, there are plenty of car parks within a short distance and the train station is 5mins walk away. Café on site.
